Google Confirms: We’re Not Currently Blocked In China
We've just received word from Google that they are not currently blocked in China and that a server issue was most likely the cause of their dashboard misread. From Google:
Because of the way we measure accessibility in China, it's possible that our machines could overestimate the level of blockage. That seems to be what happened last night when there was a relatively small blockage. It appears now that users in China are accessing our properties normally. Please also note that the dashboard is not a real time tool.

Copia Plans Low-Cost 7? And 10? Tablets As Well As E-Ink Devices
Just a couple hours ago, news broke of the $99 Copia Wave5 e-reader, or tablet, or whatever you want to call a 5" LCD-based device focused on reading. That isn't the extent of the lineup, however: Copia has two more LCD-based tablets coming out soon, as well as two E-ink-based readers with Kindle-esque designs.
As they've said since their CES debut, the draw is supposed to be their unique social platform, which allows a community of readers to exchange reviews, recommendations, and so on — and although it will start as an exclusive to Copia-branded devices, they're trying to go OEM and make the Copia service the premier social layer for e-books.

Twitter Begins Testing Inline Photos And Videos On Its Website
A new option has just appeared in Twitter's "Settings" menu called "Twitter Media." This appears to indicate that inline image and video sharing is making its way to Twitter.com shortly. The option appears on my account, but checking the box does nothing so far. [update below]
If this is indeed the case, Twitter is once again emulating some of the functionality third-party sites are building on top of Twitter. For example, one of Brizzly's main selling points right now is the ability to show photos and videos inline in your tweet stream (though, to be fair, they go beyond that with other features and have Facebook integration too).

A Must Listen: The Steve Jobs Song [Video]
I thought I was a fanboy. I've got nothing on Jonathan Mann.
Regular readers may recall that Mann is the guy behind the Bing jingle (which we didn't like - but students did, or were forced to), the song about me (which we did like), and most recently, the iPhone 4 antenna song (which not only did we love, but apparently Apple did too). Mann, touched by the fact that Apple decided to play his song at their press conference last Friday, decided to follow it up with a serenade for CEO Steve Jobs.
Warning: if some of my posts about Apple drive you crazy, this song is going to make your head explode.
